In this day and age when everyday jargon includes “digital economy”, “going cashless”, “e- banking” etc., online shopping is becoming a much preferred option among the shoppers. In the last 5 years, we at Earthy Hues have been witnessing a growing need among customers to become digitally literate.
Initially, the customers were a bit apprehensive about ordering a product online; most importantly, whether it’s safe to do money transactions online. Other concerns included whether the product would match the description and whether the colour would be different from what’s pictured. Some wanted to know if the product would be damaged during transit. Their concerns were genuine and we did address them to our best of abilities in our own way.
As an entity that doesn’t have a physical store, Earthy Hues relies on online shopping to a large extent. Hence it is critical that customers warm up to the idea of buying from online shopping portals.
Earthy Hues ensures that for each and every product, proper and detailed product descriptions are given along with accurate measurements. Having said that, our products are handcrafted and hence no products are the same. This factor actually makes each of our products one-of-a-kind.
Good quality pictures are uploaded for each product so that the customer gets an exact idea of the shape, colour, size etc. In spite of taking professional help for clicking product pictures, we do sometimes find ourselves in helpless situations where the camera is unable to capture the exact colour of the product or the natural colour of the banana fibre is slightly different in some pieces. In such scenarios, we do apprise the customers about it.
Whenever we receive an enquiry, we encourage the customers to make a purchase after surfing our website or any of the websites where our products are available. The payments can be done on these portals via online bank transfer/net banking/ credit/debit cards. Our experiences so far, validate our belief that e-banking is secure and safe. After the demonetization, we have had payments made through PayTM e-wallet as well.
Earthy Hues products are couriered through reliable courier services like India Post/ Professional Couriers/ DTDC etc to the desired shipping address anywhere in India. If it’s a gift, customers often tell us to leave a handwritten note on their behalf. The products are packed with utmost care. Products like lamps are not couriered as the risk of getting damaged during transit is high. We are looking for safer options to transport lamps. However, until then, lamps can be picked up from us.
Once an order is couriered, the customers are informed about the shipping details and the Tracking ID is provided for tracking the order. We consider the “order closed” only after the customer confirms that the order was received and that the customer is happy and satisfied with the product. In case of genuine issues*, the product is replaced**.
